Camaraderie Super September Sale

Many of you may already know that Camaraderie Cabernet has been one of our favorite wines for years. Camaraderie Cellars is a small winery located in Port Angeles, Washington (across from Vancouver Island) owned and operated by Don and Vicki Corson. Don started to make wine as a hobby for he and his family and friends, and it soon ballooned into a fairly large operation. His winery is still small enough to be considered a "boutique" or "garage" operation. Only about 500 cases in total of his 2000 Washington State Cabernet were produced. Michigan is one of the very few markets outside of Washington where his wines are available and we are one of the lucky and proud few to sell Camaraderie Cellars wines.

The 2000 Camaraderie Cellars Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from eastern Washington, miles from Port Angeles. The grapes actually come from Fred Artz’ famous Red Mountain vineyard and Paul Champoux’ equally famous Mercer Ranch Vineyard. The almost high-desert conditions provide the perfect place for the ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. An inviting nose of blackberry, subtle earth, and chocolate covered cherries is followed on the palate with explosive fruit. Blackberry, raspberry, dark cherry and dark chocolate notes coat the palate and the finish lingers like bad company. This wine has been one of our favorites for two vintages (1999 and 2000). The quality is so good that we feel it’s a steal for only $23.99 a bottle.

The 2000 vintage is almost gone and we’ve decided to pass on a very special offer.

Wild Horse Pinot Noir – A Perfect Value and a Perfect Transition Wine
$19.99

September is here. The weather is cooling and backyard grilling will slow down. There’s still some time before you put those grills away so make sure you take of advantage of Indian Summer (hopefully). People are more health conscious these days and the Atkins diet is very popular. Salmon and chicken are more and more popular grilling items these days and luckily there is wine to go with both. The 2001 Wild Horse Central Coast Pinot Noir is the perfect wine for today’s light grilling. The 2001 Wild Horse Pinot is medium-bodied with good acidity which makes it a very food-friendly wine. Notes of dark cherry, strawberry, clove, and subtle earth are present on the nose while notes of cherry, plum, raspberry, and subtle cinnamon present themselves on the palate. September is a transitionary period between Summer and Winter. People tend to switch from whites to reds during this time. Pinot Noir makes a great transitionary wine because it is not as heavy as a Cabernet, Merlot, or Shiraz. Wild Horse Pinot Noir is the perfect wine for Fall. Take advantage of everything September has to offer and try a bottle or two of 2001 Wild Horse Central Coast Pinot Noir.

Try with grilled salmon or chicken of course, or also try with a hearty stew or your favorite mushroom dish.
