Merchant's Fine Wine was founded in 1994 and has since been recognized as Michigan's leading expert in wine, beer and gourmet foods. To date Merchant's remains driven to provide the best selection, service and advice to our customers. We have earned a fabulous reputation from being able to find that "hard to get item," to offering a wide variety of unique gourmet products and deli services.

History of Merchant's Fine Wine

In 1976, the idea began with Merchant of Vino. The Vino chain sought to introduce accessible gourmet food and wine to Metro Detroit. After the Merchant of Vino chain was sold, Merchant's Fine Wine was formed to perfect the gourmet food and wine market.

Today, the store holds recognition nationwide as one of the top wine markets in the Midwest for selection, service and advice. We have been recognized by Hour Magazine, the Metro Times, Wine Spectator and Food & Wine for having the best selection of wine, beer and gourmet foods in Metro Detroit.
